At South Ossett Infants Academy we believe that the child is at the centre of everything we do and we have tried to create a broad, balanced and creative curriculum to ensure that children are engaged in their learning and above all enjoy coming to school. We have enthusiastic, caring and professional staff who work hard to ensure this happens.
We want every child to reach their potential and our ultimate aim is to create a lifelong love of learning which gives children not only new skills, knowledge and understanding, but also key learning attributes that will enable them to succeed as they begin their path in life. We have a culture of learning in which we have high expectations of all children that enables them to achieve through challenge and support.

The start of the new academic year was a great success, and it was wonderful to see the children showing so much positivity and resilience as they settled into new routines.
A special well done to our award winners and VIPs, who truly demonstrated the good behaviour, enthusiasm and effort that make our school such a special place to learn.
We can't wait to celebrate even more achievements throughout the year and look forward to recognising our stars each week! 🌟

We have enjoyed a wonderful end to the term and school year, coming together as one community to celebrate all that has been achieved.
This week's special awards have recognised positivity, a quality our children demonstrate every day! It has been brilliant to see them spending time in their new classes during transition week, taking their exciting next steps.
A huge well done to everyone, and thank you to all our parents, carers, staff and children for another fantastic year. We wish you all a wonderful summer break and look forward to welcoming you back in September.

Our Year 2 pupils were thrilled to receive letters from Visit Ossett informing them that three of their designs had been selected for the wildflower project in Ossett town centre.
Not only are the wildflowers looking beautiful, but the children's designs are looking fantastic too! 🌸🌿
If you're visiting Ossett town centre, be sure to keep an eye out for them. We are incredibly proud that our pupils have had the opportunity to contribute to a project that celebrates and enhances our local community.

With hot weather forecast, we want to make sure our whole community stays safe and aware of the drowning risks of going into open water. Swimming in ponds, lakes and flooded quarries can be extremely dangerous - between strong underwater currents, cold water shock, debris and discarded waste, toxic algae and sudden changes in water depth, taking a dip just isn't worth the risk.
